Bisquet Balou C retires from the sport
After several injuries, he will now be perfecting his breeding carreer
Yesterday was the last time that Nicola Philippaerts saddled his stallion Bisquet Balou C. The pair jumped a flawless clear round in the Léon Melchior CSI5* Open Sires of the World and finished the jump-off with a 5th place. Bisquet Balou C will now be moving to France where he will be used for breeding. The 13-year-old Balou de Rouet son from mare Phillipa (Polydor) has been approved for both BWP and Selle Francais. Thanks to his grandfather Baloubet du Rouet, a living legend and multiple medalist under Rodrigo Pessoa, Bisquet is a very interesting stallion for breeding. He helped Belgium win the Nations Cups of Sopot & Barcelona in 2016. That same year, he also finished 7th in the CSI5* Grand Prix of Brussels and 8th in the CSI5* Grand Prix of Monte Carlo, while one year earlier he finished 8th in the CSIO5* Grand Prix of Lummen. But also his offspring is worth noting. He is, among others, the father of the BWP reserve champion Oxford vd Middelste (ds. Azur de Paulstra) and of Kancellara van de Lentakker (ds. Prince de Revel) who jumps at 1m40 level with Filip Dolezal. "Bisquet Balou C is now moving to France to Groupe France Elevage" says Ludo Philippaerts. "There he will continue his career as a stallion. Starting next year, fresh semen from him will be available everywhere, including in Belgium. He is an incredibly good horse but he has not been able to get the most out of his sporting career. He can mean a lot for breeding. "
